[Plugin: Edit Flow] Problems with custom statuses

    Hi there,

    I explored using Edit Flow’s custom statuses to give more descriptive statuses than Draft/Pending/etc.

    Unfortunately, I decided on my fresh install to delete all statuses and start again.

    Once I deleted draft, I could not re-establish draft. The error message says: Status name conflicts with existing term. Please choose another.

    This means with Edit Flow enabled, all previous posts that were drafts are now unable to be found (without direct links to a post).

    If i disable Edit Flow, Drafts reappear (phew).

    Therefore, the problem is that I’ve lost the ability to have Drafts!

    I’ve uninstalled, deleted, reinstalled and the same options I previously (erroneously!) chose return. I can’t find a solution, and I’d really like to use Edit Flow.

    Can you check to see if you have a category or tag named “Draft”? There’s probably a conflict with another taxonomy.

    Yes, there were no custom statuses called ‘Draft’, and creating ‘Draft’ again to replace failed.

    It seems the slug draft was never entirely deleted, even though I did (accidentally) trash it.

    Oh right, I think I did too. Gotcha. Yes, we do have a Post Tag called draft – I’ll remove it and test in the morning when I’m on my server. Thank you 🙂

    Yep, this was the problem. Thank you Daniel, very much appreciated. I don’t think I’d have made that connection.

    Created an issue for it. If you want, feel free to open a discussion on the dev P2. I’m generally not a proponent at this time because our “fix” would just work to reduce the likelihood, and it would be a pain to implement.
