  • Hello,

I understand you are receiving this error: WooCommerce Square requires the mbstring PHP extension to function. Contact your host or server administrator to install and configure the missing extension

The first step that I recommend, is to contact your web host and ask them to enable PHP mbstring extension. A way to manually enable the extension is explained here:

Thank you, I have already contacted my hosting provider and they are saying that there is no issue with the mbstring extension.

    What would you recommend?

    Hello @pmcmg,

Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status Report as well as a screenshot of the error? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.  Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

Look forward to hearing back from you.

    Hi,

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

    Best.
