OK I have been in panic mode because during the updating process WP flashed a quick message tat disappeared & all of my calendar posts disappeared & I can’t find the plugin in the InActive List etc so I tried to reinstall & it gave me the error message “Installation Failed” with a mention that the file location already exists except I can’t figure out where to find the file it is referencing??
Since I’m not the only one having this problem I’m able to stop panicking but now am wondering how long will it be for “The Tribe” to get this problem fixed with an easy update? Of the calendar plugins I prefered this one & used it a lot with each items posting on the blog as it’s own post at the top of the blog until the event date passed when it would be pushed down as new blog posts would be added.
Hello??
Has anyone made notice of the problem from “The Tribe”?
Trying to reupload the plugin still just gives the error message that the install failed – it’s not even showing on the dashboard for me to just delete & start fresh – any suggestions please on how to fix this or when some sort of update fix for this problem will be ready?
Apologies for the delayed response, @gabrielparriaux-1 – that’s a really weird issue. Are you still encountering this?
Hi @tillett4ct – in general it’s best to create a new forum topic of your own rather than posting in one created by someone else (even if the problem does seem very similar). Are you comfortable using FTP, or the file manager tool (if any) provided by your web host?
If so you could try deleting the plugin directory (ie, wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar) and then try re-installing. Does that help at all?
Hi @barryhughes-1,
Problem is solved for me. I removed the files with FTP and reinstalled the plugin. It worked.
Thank you for helping,
Gabriel
Excellent, glad things worked out 🙂
