  • @shapeschicken We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

Can you please confirm you are using the most recent version of Yoast SEO, version 16.1.1? You can learn more about updating here: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/

Also, can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.7.1? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

@shapeschicken Thanks for your reply and confirming that Yoast SEO and WordPress are up to date.

The error you are receiving looks like it may have been caused due to an incomplete or faulty installation of the plugin, or that during an update of the plugin something went wrong and caused some of it’s files to become incomplete or damaged.

To resolve this, can you please try performing a manual reinstallation of the plugin and see whether that corrects the issue? We have instructions on how to reinstall the plugin at the following link: https://yoast.com/help/how-can-i-update-my-free-plugin/#remove.

We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.

    Hey Devnihil

Thanks for your response and sorry i didnt get back earlier, few other fires to fight and this issue resolves itself after a restart…

However, it happens once a week which is painful.

Can i confirm that if i do the steps with Deleting the plugin and then reinstalling it, will i still keep all my settings, including my meta data etc?

    thank you
