For me it perfectly works. What exactly do you mean with “the widget will simply disappear”? Do you have the “hide chcounter widget” box checked? Does it disappear on the widget management page from wordpress? maybe save the sidebar settings once and then re-add chcounter widget.

Did you solve your problem?
I managed to resolved the problem by upgrading my wordpress to the latest release and i’m not sure which plugins has a conflict with it. But most probably its a plugin conflict it works perfectly now.
I’m using wordpress 2.7.1 in spanish.I installed chcounter 2.5.3 and not working.
Are they compatible?

can you activate the plugin? did you set the options? What exactly is not working?
im widget werden bei mir keine werte angezeigt. der pfad zum chcounter verzeichnis stimmt (da bin ich sicher, da zuvor im widget eine fehlermeldung stand als der pfad noch nicht eingetragen war)
werte gibt es eigentlich, habe zuvor den code in die footer.php eingebaut und auf der admin-seite von chcounter prompt meinen besuch und den des google bots gesehen.
hat jemand einen tipp?

welche plugin version hast du? hast du entsprechende counter parameter in die aktive box gezogen? wird das widget mit parameter titeln angezeigt, und nur die werte fehlen?
Anmerkung: Hier auf wordpress.org währe es besser auf English zu schreiben. Zum Einen ist so die Wahrscheinlichkeit größer, dass du Hilfe bekommst. Zum Anderen finde ich es, falls jemand anderes das gleiche Problem hat, freundlicher, da es so alle verstehen können.
Hello, after updateing (wordpress Version 2.8.1) and (ChCounter Widget Version 2.7) I face a problem.
After pressing setup (chcounter widget) I got the following error
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: file_put_contents() in …/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/chcounter-widget/chcounter-widget.php on line 469
Reinstalling, removing and install a clean version, changing the theme etc. ends up always in the same error. Any idea?

ich habe unter wp 2.8.1 heute versucht das widget zu installieren.
leider hagelt es sql-fehlermeldungen.
die installationsanleitung habe ich befolgt:
“To install the plugin to the following steps
1. Unzip the zip-file and upload the content to your WordPress Plugin directory.
2. Activiate the plugin via the admin plugin page.
3. Go to Options –> chCounter Widget and set up chCounter as well as parameters shown on the frontend
4. Go to the widget page and add it to your sidebar. Don’t forget to set the title via the widget control panel.”
dort steht nicht, dass ich irgendwelche pfade anpassen muss.
wie ann ich dein tolles widget zum laufen bringen?

Versuch mal die version 2.6
ich hab ähnliche Probleme mit 2.7, irgendwas scheint da nicht angepasst zu sein an das Deutsche WordPress…

New to chCounter, trying to get it to work well I have two questions I can’t solve:
1. How do I change language on the widget showing the result on the blog?
I can’t get it to change to one of the languages following the chCounter-download or to my translation to Norwegian. What am I doing wrong?
For the statistics it works OK.
2. The setup page (settings > chCounter) doesn’t show as much as the “Screenshot” of “chCounter Widget Settings”.
My settings page only shows the parameters “Available” and “Active” and the button “Save settings”.
No Admin Control Panel or anything else….
What am I doing wrong? Anyone who can help?

Yes, I am still ‘strugling’ with my chCounter Widget – to get it to work.
New is that no parameters can be seen on the setting page “chCounter Widget Settings” – some text saying that ‘all parameters have been activated’ and ‘no parameters have been activated yet’.
No parameters activated gives nothing to show on the blog.
I have tried different languages, but no parameters
What happens. . . .? What can repair this?

After some extra ‘struggle’ today – my chCounter-widget is working very well now – and in Norwegian too. . . . .
