  • Do other plugins work? Have you tried testing it with the default theme?

If it’s specific to that plugin, ask on the plugin’s own forum – or if it’s commercial, ask the developer/vendor – as those are not supported on these forums.

    Hi,
thank you for the quick answer. It doesnt wrk with the default theme either and all the other plug ins seems to work. If I deactivate the uber menu plug in the error disappears.

I´ll try finding the specific plug in forum. Thanks!

    Hi @wpyogi ,

This is an error occurring because the user downloaded the plugin from an unofficial source, and that source added malicious code to the plugin which caused the problem. The error does not occur with the official plugin code. Only customers who have purchased the plugin through CodeCanyon have access to the UberMenu forums.

@adamfagerstrom , regarding your response in the locked thread:

In general, free plugins will either be distributed through the WordPress plugin repository, or by the developer of the plugin – if the plugin is offered for download on websites referring to “nulled” scripts, “ripped” scripts, or “premium scripts for free”, this indicates that the plugin has been pirated and distributed illegally – of course, they will not say that specifically.

Regardless of legality, you should always make sure you download a plugin from the official source to ensure you’re getting the latest, malware-free code. When a plugin is offered for a fee on the official site, and for free on others, that is a clear indication that it is being distributed illegally.

UberMenu adds this notice when you install the plugin to alert any users who may have inadvertently downloaded a pirated copy:

I’m with you on this – I closed that thread because posting a duplicate thread after I’d answered this one was not cool.

Yup, just wanted to let you know in case you get other threads like this 🙂 I also wanted to clarify for Adam and make a general PSA (as Jan did here, which I thought was a great explanation for the uninitiated) about the dangers of downloading code from improper sources that may have malicious intent – it’s a big risk, and one many users are unaware of I think.

I suspect most of the UberMenu-related questions that crop up on here are in that boat (downloaded unofficially), which is why they end up here. Feel free to redirect all UberMenu-specific questions to my forums: http://sevenspark.com/support . The forum is clearly linked to from within the plugin and documentation, so users should be able to find it easily on their own 🙂

    Thanks!

    Chris
