Pleae Help With SideBar Problem

I am a new WordPress user and have just recently installed and set-up (in it’s infancy stages) a web site for our church. One problem I have not been able to resolve is, I think, a browser compatability issue. In Internet Explorer my sidebar is fine on the “Home” page but on every other page (including when you click on the title of a blog entry) the content portion of the sidebar pushes inset and below the ‘body’ of the page/blog entry. In FireFox I do not get this problem. Is it a code issue that for some reason does not affect FireFox? Help would be appreciated greatly as I hope to have this site up-and-running fully within the next couple days.
