Php guidance with theme options

    I’ve switched from site builder to WP and have been slowly getting familiar with the program. I have not used php at all and now have come across instructions “To set your featured posts, please go to your theme options page in wp-admin”. The closest I find to this in cPanel is in PHP.
    Is that where I have to go to edit the theme options-and if so what FTP program do you recommend?

    What exactly do you need to change? Usually the theme has it’s own options and can be setted directly from the admin panel.

    I’ve been working on changing the “Featured Posts Pics” and I did find where to go in the admin panel. Is there a FTP program that most WP users use? I’d like to get some experience with it since it sounds like it can be handy to use. Thx.
