    Hello,

I’m experiencing repeated PHP fatal errors during UpdraftPlus operations. My host uses 1GB of RAM, running PHP 8.0 with a memory limit of 256M. The following appears regularly in my error logs throughout the day:

PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 20480 bytes) in /srv/data/web/vhosts/www.islyon.org/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/updraftplus/vendor/brumann/polyfill-unserialize/src/Unserialize.php on line 18

Any help solving this would be very much appreciated.

    Hi there,

So from your message it sounds as if you have successful backups from this morning.
However you mention a backup didn’t finish, which implies it’s not on Google Drive.

From what you’re describing it sounds like you may have a possible conflict present.
There are no other reports of having to disable our plugin to use the WP admin area.

In which case deactivating the Simple History plugin may help with resolving issues.
In fact, a plugin conflict test does appear to be the logic next step for issue analysis.

This would mean temporarily deactivating all plugins and running a backup to test.
Should the issues you’ve highlighted cease you will know there is a plugin conflict.

The possible conflict may be interfering with the deletion of Google Drive backups.
You can delete the backups manually from Google Drive if they remain after testing.

The difficulty we have in helping is we’re not able to look more closely at the issue.
We’re prohibited from asking for any form of installation access by WordPress rules.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

I think I solved the problem. At first I tried to delete the plugin and the backups, and I manually cleared the settings. After reinstalling the plugin I saw that everything was still there, including the 400+ backups. I then went into my database and manually deleted all of the options for Updraft and I deleted the Updraft folder from my wp_content folder. After reinstalling the plugin, it seems to be working very quickly again. I’m no longer receiving any errors. Thank you again for your help with this.
