i cannot find anything about windowsserver….
The link that I gave you states exactly, “For permalinks in general, you must use mod_rewrite, and Windows servers do not support mod_rewrite. If you put a filename at the beginning, WordPress will attempt to use that to pass the arguments and bypass the necessity for mod_rewrite.”

sorry (i’m not well in english)
i don’t get it…
If you are on a Windows server – use this as shown on the page linked above:
/index.php/archives/%year%/%monthnum%/%day%/%postname%/
= you have to have a filename at the beginning: index.php

it doesn’t work: – no input file specified.
What is wrong?
I am trying to get this beast up and running on a windows server as well. I guess the different folders (date etc) should be created on the fly by WP? It is not happening. Do I have to create them manually? I use this folder structure: /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/Úy%/%post_id%/
