Permalink Settings

I created site with the “Default Permalink Settings” because the server owner did not activated the “mod_rewrite”, now they activated it and I changed the “Permalink Settings” to “Post name” but I getting error 404 what can be the problem? the .htaccess files look right any other .htaccess file from another site that work with “Post name”
