• I am currently using limauorange and wordpress 2.8.4 version. The permalinks on my blog currently are in this form- http://xyz.com/?p=123 which is the default mode.

I want to change them to the day and name format. But the permalinks tab on my site shows the following warnings.

Warning: strpos() [function.strpos]: Empty delimiter. in /mnt/r0341/d03/s40/b02c8f00/www/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 73

I want to but I am too scared to change the form of permalinks, as there is extensive inter linking on my blog which I do not want to loose at any cost.

Please help me change the permalinks without making any glitches.

    Thanks

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

tried activating and deactivating the plugins. Didnt help.

What are the warnings about. Didnt understand them.

Either you have a corrupted file in wp-includes or your theme (or a plugin) has a bug. Try re-uploading the wp-admin and wp-includes folders from a fresh download of WordPress 2.8.5.

And consider upgrading asap. Your site is currently running a major risk of being hacked – if it hasn’t been already.

Every time I have upgraded wordpress, there has been some or the other problem, with either the categories table crashing, or something going wrong. And then I had to fix it all again. It was a pain. So that’s the reason I am hesitant.

I am not sure how do I re-upload wp-admin and wp-includes folders. Can I report about this to the web host. Will they be able to help?

Using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.
