PayPal status "payment pending"

    Hi,
    we have a problem with the PayPal API. It is a German Webshop, we are using the theme Bronx (fuelthemes). It is a WooCommerce shop and we are using WooCommerce Germanized as well. The actual payment transaction is working, but even though customers have paid the bill, the WooCommerce status is still “payment pending”.

    We’ve already addressed the problem to fuelthemes support and they had a look, but it does not seem to be a problem regarding the theme. So they’ve told me to get in touch with the WooCommerce author, or maybe somebody else here has the same problem and an idea how wo solve it.

    My guess is that there is a communication problem, so the paying status from PayPal won’t be transferred back. I am not a programmer (just html, basics of JS and PHP) and our developer doesn’t have a clue what the problem might be. So maybe somebody here can help us? I’ve already read some older threads about that topic, but they didn’t help that much.

    We also have a problem with the translations after WooCoomerce updates, but I will open another thread regarding it is another topic.

    WC > System Status will highlight any IPN issues that might be affecting your server.

    Thanks Mike,
    the system status does not highlight anything concerning IPN ( I had to look that up first :)) There is some highlighting, but it concerns the MySQL-Version that we have to update, but the hoster is a bit lazy. And some of the WooCommerce-templates are outdated (I had to overwrite some of the new WooCommerce templates with the old ones, because some of the newer versions had caused some front-end issues and we are working on that).

    But the rest looks fine, loads of green checkmarks:

    Is it possible to see what PayPal sends back? In the browser console for example? Can it be a problem with one of the plugins?

    There is a setting to enable logging in paypal gateway settings.

    Hi,
    I’ve solved the issue by using the identity token. It works fine and we do not have any other issues with this configuration until now.

    So I will mark this as resolved.
