parse errors on a row

    Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /hsphere/local/home/charlott/easyinnerpeace.com/wp-admin/includes/upgrade.php on line 374
    I get this error to start with, and when I resolve it, I get similar errors about other files…
    Seems there is no end to it 🙂
    Any help?
    This is my 4th WP blog, so I did not expect this struggle!
    Already ploaded the zip file again and redid the installation, still same error.
