Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}'

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/david/public_html/mywebsite.com/wp-content/themes/atahualpa/header.php on line 1

    I opened up the header file to put a custom menu, but made a backup of the original first.

    I FTP’ed the file back up and got this error. So I renamed the original back to header.php (with no changes in it) and FTP’ed it back up and tried it again. I still get the same error. What’s strange is that there is no ‘}’ character on line 1 of the file.

    How do I fix this?
