Parent not appearing in permalink

    I’m hoping someone can help. When I create a new page and set it up with a ‘parent’ location, the parent information doesn’t appear in the permalink that is allocated to the page automatically. How do I fix this? I know I can edit the permalink but I want the permalink to automatically include the parent.

    It will not appear in the permalink of that page in the editor, but once the parent child relationship is established, you will have:

    site.com/parent-page/

    and the child page will be:

    site.com/parent-page/child-page/

    For SEO, your requested URL will still be ‘parent page child page’

    Is that your goal? Or do you need match a previous URL structure for SEO?

    I’m thinking I’m out of my depth, now! I have a menu set up with site.com/parent-page/child-page but, when I set up a new page in wordpress and allocate it to the parent, the url that’s automatically generated ignores the parent information. Am I missing a step?
