• In researching how to change the page order on my website, I came across:

    ‘menu_order’ – Sort Pages by Page Order. N.B. Note the difference between Page Order and Page ID. The Page ID is a unique number assigned by WordPress to every post or page. The Page Order can be set by the user in the Write>Pages administrative panel. See the example below.

    I can not find “Write>Pages Administrative Panel” This is also a link that sends one to Codex>Function Reference/ wp list pages that gives the instructions but again I need to go to the Write>Pages Administrative Panel which I cant find.

    Please advise.

  • Hi zayb321,

    Those instructions look like they are for an older version of WordPress.

    Go to “Pages” -> “Edit”

    You can change the page order by clicking “Quick Edit” on the page in question then entering a number in the Order box.

    or

    When editing a page, it shows “Order” in the attributes box on the right.

    You can also manage your page order by installing a plugin such as – http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/pagemash/

    Hope this helps 🙂
