Page missing in dashboard

    Hello,
    A page I created an hour ago is missing from the dashboard, I don’t actually know if it was ever there in the list or not. But I’ve been trying everything for an hour to find it, but no go.
    I definitely created the page AND it exists. I can browse to it by writing in the Url. The URL is correct (https://etc.. and all is correct)
    I only noticed the problem because of another weird thing: a link I created to the missing page from an icon sends me back to the page where the icon is (not the missing page).
    I have done everything in your list of recommendations except reinstalling WordPress.

    Also check trash in the dashboard in case it accidentally got deleted

    Hi, thanks, that’s the first thing I did in fact. But no, it’s not there. I’ve since rebooted the computer, and it’s still the same situation. It’s so weird. I can’t think of a single explanation.

    Just a quick update. I have fixed one of the problems. The URL (of the missing page) linked from an icon. It kept linking back to the page the icon was on – well that was because there was a space before the http:// when I copied and pasted into the insert link field. I deleted the space and the link works. But …..

    However, the page is still missing from the dashboard.

    The two problems were unrelated issues that coincidentally occurred simultaneously. 🙁

    I have found it
    WP must have renamed the page. I don’t understand why, but it is there. It’s one page with two different names. One name in the dashboard. And the name I gave it, works for the links. I’m going to leave it like that and not dig any deeper. Thanks for your thoughts t-p 🙂
    I’ll mark this as resolved – even though the mystery endures.
