page exclusion

I’m currently using the savior theme by Justin Scheetz. Actually there’s a top navigation menu whereby a list of pages are displayed. My problem is when an internal page is opened (activated) it should be hidden from the top navigation menu. That is on my home page the top navigation menu is visible with its sub pages when hovered on. And in the internal pages when they are opened, the active pages and its child pages should only be displayed on the sidebar and removed from the top navigation menu. I have tried various plugins like the Exlude page from navigation, flexi page BUT its not doing the right function. Any help?
