    Hello,

in the free version of this plugin (used with twenty seventeen theme – dark-mode!) the option Page Background Colour from General Options (Set the colour of the website background) does not work. I select a colour but there is no change. The background of my site is still #222 (dark mode colour)

Same problem as above with the background even if I activate the trial for 7 days.
Also Page Background Image does not work. I choose an image, save it but still no changes in the design.

Please advice what how can I change the background and how can In add a Page Background Image? Thank you.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Hello, the problem you describe may well be with the “dark mode” that you have selected. We will do some testing and release a version as soon as possible which enables these options even when in “dark mode”.

I’ll let you know when we have news.

Thank you for testing. I just tried with the “white mode” and it also does not work.

What I want to achieve using the dark mode: first- change the background of the theme to black in all pages including blog page and second- add an image as a background for the home page. Is this possible with the plugin? Thank you!

Oh … ! Sounds like you definitely found a bug. I’ll get onto this ASAP tonight.

Yes, it will be possible but to stop the image from displaying in the background of other pages I’ll give you some CSS to put into “Customiser – Additional CSS”.

I’ll try to get an update for you in about six hours.

OK, so there was a bug affecting “dark” and “custom” colour modes. Which we will release a fix for tonight.

However, there are two things that I expect might be a problem for what you want to do …

Firstly, on the homepage, if you use a full screen header media (image or video) then the background of the site will be obscured by this header media.

Secondly, on the same “Customiser – General Options” where you find the settings for Page Background colour and image … in order to see the changes, the “Max Page Width” will need to be set less than 100% otherwise, again, the background will be obscured by the content.

    Thank you, Oliver.

I will use first a header in the format as it is the twenty seventeen theme. I cannot follow exactly what you mean, but I will see it soon, I think.

And I am using 100% max page width and I would like to keep it like this.

Thank you and good luck in finding a proper solution!

OK, well I’m afraid that by design of the theme itself (not our plugin) it will be impossible for you to change the background of the page because with a header image and / or 100% width page, the content will obscure the background.

It may be possible for us to add background settings for the site content instead … but this will probably not work to your satisfaction as it will not cover the header or footer of the site.

Marking this as resolved now since the theme was unable do what you require by design.
