SSP will support any media file you like. As long as it is a valid audio format (like OGG, MP3, WAV, etc.) then it will work just fine.
If this has helped you then it would be great if you could support continued development of the plugin by leaving a review 🙂

Hugh
Hmm?
I uploaded a .ogg version and tried to subscribe to the feed in Rhythmbox I also had reports from listeners of another podcast I did say the feed wasn’t working https://goo.gl/WtSdqN I changed everything to a .mp3 and it burst into life.

Well SSP doesn’t add any restrictions to the file type, so if there is a problem with .ogg files then the issue isn’t being caused by this plugin. The URL for the audio file in your feed simply points to whatever audio file you added to your episode, so if that isn’t working then there could be an issue on your server where .ogg files are not streamed correctly or perhaps there is another plugin causing a conflict.
Either way – the issue there cannot be SSP as this plugin is explicitly file type agnostic.

Hugh
OK cheers.
So is it possible to have a seperate ogg and mp3 feed then?
I’ll write you something nice when I’ve sorted everything.
Pete
SSP doesn’t provide separate feeds like that (although I am looking into what the best options are in that regard). You could use the series taxonomy to create separate feeds, but that would mean duplicating your content to get them working. That’s the only way to achieve separate feeds at the moment, but if I find a real need for distinct feeds for different file types then I will look into making that a possibility.

Hugh
