Odd website redirect

    Hello,

    I am attempting to create a website with GoDaddy hosting. Currently, the WordPress Address Field under the General Settings is set to http://(domainaddress).com. However, trying to go to http://www.(domainaddress).com redirects me to enagicwebsystem.com. Additionally, previously I had tried to change the WordPress URl field to include the www. portion. Doing so created a situation where I couldn’t even access my admin page, and subsequently had to reinstall wordpress. Now I am trying to recreate the site and noticed the same problem exists.

    Has anyone else wrestled with this and come up with a solution? Doing a web search didn’t yield anything.

    1. Contact your hosts regarding the redirection.

    Thanks for your reply esmi. I spent an hour on the phone with godaddy, and they did everything possible from their end. However, I sure wish I would have read that page you linked before I undid all the work I had done on that site. Oh well, I’ll never make that mistake again. It’s just odd that after I added the www. portion to the URL in the URL fields it created a redirect to a site that is not in anyway affiliated with our company or client.
