• The blog template I am using has two links at the bottom for:

    Entries (RSS) and Comments (RSS)

Odd thing is, the URL of the link starts with the characters “feed:”, like this:

    feed:http://www.yourhomeincome.com/watkins-online/feed/

Clicking that, of course, produces a no such page error. Taking the “feed:” off leads to the page of code.

I contacted the creator of the template, and she said that came as part of the code she used, and another user noted that they have a blog with links structured in the same way.

Anyone have an idea why this would be set up like that?

  • Search the forums — it’s been covered. 😉

Basically though, putting feed: in front of the feed URLs make them open in your feed reader on your PC, assuming you have one installed and one that associates itself with “feed:“.

You can remove it and not have any problems, as you’ve discovered.
