Hi @sabinebaker,
Thanks for reaching out and I’m so sorry about this.
There are a number of reasons why this could be happening. And here are some steps you can take towards resolution:
1. Please check your spam folder. If your email recipient server flags the emails, they could end up going to your spam folder instead.
2. If you are using a custom domain hosted on Google, then you’ll have to set up SPF and DKIM records. This is required.
Please see the links below on how to set up SPF and DKIM records on Google:
SPF: https://support.google.com/a/answer/33786?hl=en&ref_topic=9061731
DKIM: https://support.google.com/a/answer/174124?hl=en&ref_topic=2752442
This is also mentioned in our setup guide for the Google mailer here: https://wpmailsmtp.com/docs/how-to-set-up-the-gmail-mailer-in-wp-mail-smtp/#spf-record.
3. You can check the sender reputation score of your sender domain. A bad sender reputation can also be a reason why your emails are not delivered.
To check this, please send a test email to the email address shown when you visit https://www.mail-tester.com/? Please see here: https://i.imgur.com/CoZaCaE.png
After sending the test email, please click the button to Check your score. (https://i.imgur.com/BCeJaq4.png) The report should show you anything that’s wrong with your email sender reputation. Then you can fix it accordingly.
I hope these steps are able to help toward resolution of the issue.
Thanks 🙂
i too am experiencing the same issue with test emails not arriving. we are using SendGrid. I have sent to various account and nothing has shown up. My website is hosted at my own server and we did have them install all of the recommended SPF and DKIM information. They are not seeing any issues at the server level. I tried the mail tester tool but it did not arrive as well.
