ok I was running an older version of 2 and yesterday it stopped allowing me in the admin and things got all wonky.. like I’d reset the password and the new password wouldn’t work. Needless to say I was almost 12 hours on it when I decided to delete the whole thing and start over this morning. Yes that was sooo hard to do, but I was at my limit. All went fine with the new install of 2.04 until I went to check out my first post. It’s not calling up my index.php page. I’m getting a page that says I need to install wordpress. it’s already been installed and I posted on it. I want it to call up my index.php page when you go to my site at http://mrssquidley.squidfamily.net the only way I can see my post is if I type in http://mrssquidley.squidfamily.net/index.php my old install had no problem calling up the index.php page. I’ve searched and searched and by this time today I’m so frustrated and crosseyed it isn’t funny so pardon me if the answer is right here and I’ve overlooked it… I did check.

Perhaps there was a problem with your server? Did you check with your host? Sometimes even a corrupt cache will exhibit that kind of behavior…

Before uploading the new files, did you follow the directions for deleting the old versions?

    I don’t see that here, I don’t have to type in index.php.

During the install, were you prompted to run upgrade.php?

I deleted everything… even started out with a new database with a new name. There are 3 installs on our domain name… mine was the only one messed up. I’m pretty sure someone found a “hole” to get through because of how it was acting. I just wanted a fresh start.

So you don’t have to type in index.php? Do you see my index page by just going to mrssquidley.squidfamily.net?

Guess I should check it out on one of our other computers or jump on-line on my phone. Thanks!

Yep, I don’t need the index either. It works as it is supposed to.

All set! It’s there… now to reinstall all my plugins and my themes and… ugh. It’s going to be a long evening lol
