No visible spinner

When a user clicks “submit” to send their form (usually a PDF or Word document), there is no spinner, and it takes up to 10 seconds for the success popup to appear. This results in users clicking several times on “submit” and emailing me asking whether or not it was received.

I’ve spent hours online searching clips of code and trying them out in the HTML of my CF7 – to no avail. I have two other Contact Form 7’s on pages of my website, and they show progress and success popup just fine. This particular page has a download button at the top of it. When my site was originally designed last summer, the submit button spinner worked just fine. However, after a few months, the spinner disappeared.
