No email for new comments

    I don’t know when this became a problem, but for a while I have not been receiving an email when someone comments:

    • I have the box checked: “Email me whenever” “Anyone posts a comment”
    • I do get emails when a comment is held for moderation or someone signs up.
    • I have tried unselecting the check box, saving changes; then reselecting the box and saving changes with no effect.

    Any help tracking this issue down would be appreciated.

    I have a very similar problem when new users sign up, it doesn’t send them the password, if someone forgot the password it doesn’t email it to them either. I have tried multiple email providers, and nothing works.

    It used to work when I had a clean install but not anymore, however all the text is there, about the email, but no email.

    If you or someone knows how to help me fix it, please help.
