I’m using a Tempera theme and NextGen Gallery plug-in. When I created the website around a yr ago, the Gallery worked perfectly and I could sort the images and the sort was saved. I could also create and use different galleries. Just tried again this week and it’s not saving my sort. I tried creating a new gallery and it’s defaulting to the original gallery but adding in new images even though I’ve created a new gallery. I use the NextGen Gallery widget on the page, and it will save my settings when I click DONE, but when I click to update the page, the settings are lost. This was happening before I updated. So I updated the theme to Tempera 1.4.0.1, updated WordPress to 4.4.2, and NextGen Gallery to 2.1.26. Because the problem persisted, I rolled back to NextGen 2.0.79 but nothing changed. Only the original gallery is appearing on my page and sort doesn’t work. I tried deactivating all plug-ins. Tried switching the Theme. Cleared both browser cache and image cache (repeatedly). Deactivated and reactivated NextGEN. Added the NextGen Gallery Reset plug-in. Nothing. GoDaddy is my webhost.I use GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress function.

@eharrigan – Are you sorting the specific display you inserted into the post/page, or are you sorting the gallery under Gallery > Manage Galleries?

If you want the inserted display sort order to change you will need to specifically sort it via the IGW modal window.

Yes, I’m sorting within the IGW modal. Here is the link to the gallery in question. http://www.100americancraftsmen.com/exhibitors-3/

These photos appear mixed randomly on the page when in actuality they are sorted into categories in the IGW modal–all clay items, all jewelry items, etc. They evn show up in the preview in the correct order. Also, when I created the original gallery, the thumbnails were set to custom 175×125. They are defaulting to a larger size so my NextGEN gallery settings are being ignored. The ONLY thing it’s allowing me to do is upload new photos to the gallery. I can’t even add any more new galleries as it is treating any images as belonging to one. When I use the NextGEN widget on my page (I use Pagebuilder), I define the name of the gallery, select “random” instead of recently added, custom size 175 x125, and the gallery ID. When I update the page, all the settings are gone. I’ve also trying changing and updating my NextGen plug-in settings–nothing is changing on the page when I update.

I just discovered that not using the NextGEN gallery widget with Pagebuilder, and only using Visual editor and clicking the new GREEN BUTTON to insert the gallery and sort from there works perfectly. Seems to have solved my problem. Good tutorials on the Imagely page!

Still trying to find a solution to this:

I cannot sort my newest gallery. I am going to “Manage Galleries”, then find the newest one, click on “Sort Gallery”, edit the order (it’s actually just by file name), make sure it shows in the order I want, then hit “Update Sort Order”. However, I then go back to the gallery page and the order is not changed at all. I am no able to change the picture order at all. Please help.
BTW I originally added the gallery with a shortcut but have now also tried adding it with the “green box” and then sorting in the popup window. Same result.
    The gallery is here: http://www.biggster.com/mygallery/wapta-traverse-2016/
You can see from the picture titles that it is showing in exactly reverse order.

I have tried sorting from the green button insert but even though it shows the correct order when I do that, as soon as I update the page and go into the online view, it is back in the wrong order.
HELP please! I have posted a few times but nobody has responded 🙁

@superbiggi – Unfortunately if you are not able to use the information in a resolved topic adding your issue to it will not generally provide any additional information. Again, we would be happy to help you in your own topic or via a Bug Report if that would be easier.

    Thanks!

We have a sort problem after adding text captions to our pictures since november 25th update when all our galleries on two websites ended up totally messed up, days of work needed not to mention our customers inconvenienced. Have we had a solution from Photcrati? No, in three days not a peep out of them talk about rubbish customer service, they have a responsibility to get these bugs fixed and quickly not duck out and hide away like a child! Totally pissed off with them this is not a serious way to do business!

@urstner6214 – Have you submitted a Bug Report on this issue; or, perhaps you have your own topic you have started for this problem? We’d be happy to help get this sorted out, please follow through with the above and we can carry on from there if you haven’t started a new topic (see http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome#Where_To_Post) or sent us a Bug Report.

    Thanks!

@urstner6214 – Now that we are working directly with each other I would recommend keeping the conversation in one place for the time being. This topic was not started by yourself and as is would not be the best place to carry on. This with all other interference with trying to help you aside.

    Thanks!

If only you were working with us it would help re your last reply!!!! Another week has passed by regardless of the holiday my websites are a mess because of your software I want to hear from you rapidly for a solution and no more excuses for missed emails I’m sick of hearing rubbish like that!

@urstner6214 – As noted earlier, it would be best to have this conversation in your topic versus disrupting the OP and their concerns. Also to note, the OP’s issue was much different than the one you are having and as such I do not believe we are creating any benefits carrying on this conversation here.

    Thanks!
