• Just installed WordPress on a Windows 2003 server running IIS6.

    All looks good except:

If I do a search that returns more than one page of results (for example I search for themes with the term ‘green’) the page links and next page link (>>) don’t work. Looking at the URL generated for each of these page links I can see the URL is

    http:///?tab=search&s=green&type=term&paged=2

Which is clearly missing the site address.

This would seem to be an underlying problem with this installation which I don’t want to ignore.

This also happens with the default theme.

My site is not in the root of the web server but I editted the database tables in two places to tell the installation the exact location of my WP files.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Mark.

  • What is your URL?

Do you have the same problem with the default theme?

    Yes

Try not to be so verbose, Mark. All those big words are confusing.

    Any thoughts yet?

This is just a vanilla install of the latest version of WP on a Windows platform. Surely this can’t just be me…

That seems to be the source of your problem. There is a setting I believe that allows you to do that in WP admin

Do you mean ‘General settings’ then ‘WordPress address (URL)’?

If so, I have that set to the URL corresponding to the location of the site files.

    Any thoughts?

Is there anything else I need to do to get this working in a non root directory on IIS?

Or is the problem caused by something else?

If this is just pilot error on my part please let me know…

If not, can anyone recommend any forums I can go to that will be able to help with this please?
