NexGen Gallery Help

Can someone explain the hierarchy of galleries, albums and images? Is a Gallery the highest order, with albums inside of it, and pics inside each album or…? I cannot seem to make sense of it. For example I want to have a section called Projects and inside of that have ten subsections, one for each project. So do I call my gallery Projects or an album Projects?
