I’d suggest downloading a fresh full copy of WordPress and installing that. Or use the re-install feature.

It might help if you described the problems from the start.

After the automatic update to 3 I could log on as admin and see my dashboard. My site was up. I just couldn’t do adds. I’d get a blank screen. Reading various threads it appeared that replacing wp-admin and wp-includes with the most recent build would solve that.
With either the new or old wp-admin & wp-includes I can no longer log on to wp-admin.
    How do I activate re-install?
Is there a file I can look at that contains the version and build number?
I should also mention that Earthlink is my host.

Ok now I see why you posted in this thread.

You’ll need to ftp a fresh copy of WordPress to your site, sorry you can only activate the re-install feature if you are logged in.

I’d suggest re-uploading the lot, and keep a copy of anything you change so that you can backtrack if necessary.

I’m getting the following and can no longer access any part of my admin. Stupidly did the auto-upgrade.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class wp_locale in /home/content/m/e/r/mercerblack/html/wp-includes/locale.php on line 14
