New to WordPress and…

    I’ve offered to build a site for my girlfriend who is a clothing/costume designer. However, she is put off the fact that most WordPress sites we’ve looked at all look like blogs. Can anybody suggest a theme which doesn’t look like or feature blog posts? She wants it to look like a Clothing designer’s website where we can easily add a few pictures and pages.

    The basic WP install is done, all I need to do now is find a suitable theme and add content. I’m hoping this is going to be easy 🙂

    Depends what you mean by ‘looks like a blog’. If you don’t want a blog page, just create a static page and make that the front page, from your Dashboard settings, and add other pages however you want.

    If she wants to sell things via the site, you’ll probably want to install a suitable plugin (like MarketPress etc).
