New to WordPress

    Hello, just started working with WordPress today. I have minimal experience with web sites.
    I am going with the theme of college football. Iowa Hawkeye football to be exact.
    I chose a theme that closely resembles my teams colors (Black & Gold). From what I see it doesnt look like you can add a background to a wordpress page. That may be too tacky anyway.
    I was wondering if there was any ways to incorporate a few images into the site to make it look more like a site dedicated to my favorite football team. I will be working on the sites header in the future so as to make it more personalised.
    Here is the site to view right now. It`s a work in process.
    Oh also, any way I can set a certain catagory to be the main one when my site first comes up?

    Ok, on to the next questions.
    1. I wish to make a logo for my site with photoshop. Will inserting this logo interfere with the coding that automatically shows the site address? Will I need to delete some code to do this? I`m sure I will add the site name to the logo.

    2. I have 2 catagories on my site. Basically just news and you tube videos right now.
    Id like the news to always be the front page and be able to click on the you tube page to see the vids. But it doesnt matter what catagory i place the post in, the latest post always shows on the home page weather its in news or the you tube page.
    How do I keep the news catagory as my front page?
