• Hi everyone,
After changing hosting and domain provider from web4web to ovh, my website doesn’t load and the wp admin link brings me to a white page.

    Theese is what I did:
    1. Through filezilla I uploaded the folders “wp-admin”, “wp-content” and “wp-include” from the web4web folder “public_html” to the ovh folder “www”. On my old hosting there are no files except those 3 folders.

However, ovh has a wp auto-install function so, together with the old 3 folders, there are also some files such as wp-login, wp-config, etc…

    2. I’ve uploaded the mysql database through phpmyadmin and…
    3. I’ve configured the wp-config file.

I don’t know if the config files were missing on the old hosting or they are written in the database.

For sure, one problem is that the wp version on the old server is older than the one on the new server.

If anyone can help please…what can I do?

    Thanks
    Marco

  • If you would have included a URL I’d have taken a look but…

I think you should call OVH and ask them for some help… It’s probably a file in the wrong place or you missed a file from the webroot.

    Hi JNashHawkins

    Thank you for your answer.

    website is http://www.marcocarucci.com

    Lately…

    4. I’ve tried to download an old version of wp and no moro white page but an empty wp dashboard.

    5. So I’ve noticed that the wp-config file was pointing to “mod564” and I’ve replaced it with “wp”: $table_prefix = ‘wp_’;

Now I see a weird page, my contents seem to be there but the graphic is gone.
Also I’ve been logged out from the dashboard and I’m trying to find out which are my credentials…

Hello, I would like to ask for your advice.
-What is the best way to move a wordpress.org website to another host? I am concerned due to I am getting WPvivid (task, backup, Core is not responding), and using UpDaraftPlus I am getting similar issue, when I try to do the backup from WordPress instance. Before they were performing well. What could be the issue? the websote is working fine.

May I move my website making a full backup from cPanel (this is working)? and restoring it using Ferozo? the latter move the cconfiguration as well? or this is need to be done additionally after restore the backup in the new host?

    Many thanks.
