• Just moved everything to a new host. Got it all up and working, and even looking like its old self.
During the new install, I made sure to copy down the admin password. Correctly, yup.
But it (the new password) doesn’t work…. I can get into my “regular” persona as usual, but it’s only a +9 on the privileges scale, and sometimes one just needs to be an admin.
So: how can I fix my admin password?
Tisn’t a crisis, but I’d like to know how to fix it for when a crisis occurs.

btw, I reinstalled the blog database with phpMyAdmin, if it makes any difference.

Your browser might still be using the old admin pw. Clear your cache of everything and keep your fingers crossed.

    Didn’t work..

One thing I’ve done before is delete the admin user via PHPMyAdmin. WP detects that it has an “incomplete” database and asks to reinstall. Going through the steps seems to repair and give a new password for admin. You might want to try that, but beware. Save that backup copy!
