Go to your “All Options” page and uncheck nearly all your scan options, and enable “Low Resource Scanning.” If scan completes, gradually add options back in.

For testing it can be useful to simply disable all scanning. There used to be an option to disable scanning, which still exists according to Wordfence documentation, which states:

    “Enable automatic scheduled scans
This option must be enabled for scheduled scans to occur. If you would like to disable all scheduled scans in Wordfence, simply uncheck this box and hit save.”

Only I can’t find this checkbox anywhere in Wordfence, very frustrating. Wordfence team, is there a way to disable scanning?

    Hi @asimmanj
Please make sure you have tried suggestions mentioned on “Scan Troubleshooting” guide, if none of these helped, then please kill any running scan at the moment and make sure “debug mode” is enabled then run a new scan. When it hangs, send a scan activity log to “alaa [at] wordfence [dot] com”. I’ll take a look on this report and let you know my findings.

@mountainguy2 it’s right there under (Wordfence > Scan > Scan Options and Scheduling > Scan Scheduling > Schedule Wordfence Scans).

    Thanks.
