MySQL Database

    I currently have website hosting at discountasp.net, they do not support MySQL databases but I want to use wordpress for my blog and still the rest of my website hosted there. Could I therefore install my wordpress blog there but host the database elsewhere and connect to it?

    Yes.
    You can find a cheap host that allows remote connections for mysql. Set up the database, user, etc. and put the remote connection host in the wp-config.php along with the other values.
