• Hi guys!

I really hope you can help me, what I think was easy (installing wordpress) is becoming a nightmare… I’ve been trying for three days to enter to the wp-admin site, and nothing.

I made everything: create My SQL Database in godaddy’s cpanel. Also modified my domains DNS (google.inc) so its now pointing to the correct IP address. I can get in the site by using Filezilla and the Cpanel file manager.

I downloaded the latest version of wordpress (4.1.1) and modified the wp-config-sample.php file as said on the wordpress.org website (everything is correct). Then uploaded it to my website through my FTP and go check the link mysite.com/wp-admin/install.php or mysite.com/public_html/wp-admin/install.php and still says FILE NOT FOUND, so I cannot access to my wordpress panel.

    What should I do?
I just called to godaddy’s support and they told me the sites from wordpress where showing problems since morning and maybe 24 hours later it will be solved. But, I searched on the web about this and found that other people get the same problem even years ago. Is this normal? I have another web running with wordpress and it wasn’t this difficult to make it work.

    Thanks for your help.

  • Hi,

Not familiar with Godaddy. If you install WP you don’t need to change config-sample or edit any file using ftp. Just create database, remember credential and then upload all wp files to /public or /html or whatever is your root in godaddy.
I think Godaddy has own instruction how to install that.

Then it should works. If not, your hosting is not the best solution for your website 🙂

From the main screen of your GoDaddy cPanel you will see a section called Web Applications. You can install WordPress from there if your having trouble with a manual install.
