What urls are entered in Settings -> General?
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
– resetting your permalinks back to the default setting
It looks like there are two different versions of the page – http://www.aquaheat.org.uk/plumber-in-balham
And https://www.aquaheat.org.uk/plumber-in-balham.
The problem is that the https is showing up in the search results and making it look as though there is something dodgy about the website! When there isn’t. 🙁
I’ll try all of that and then get back to you. 🙂
Didn’t work.
It only seems to be with the search results. I’m using the Genesis lifestyle theme.
Would it be a problem with my hosting company?
Can we see your site using the Twenty Eleven theme with all plugins deactivated?
I’ve switched it. Any suggestions?
I’m not seeing any links to https pages in your site’s search results.
If you type in gas safe heating engineer in balham, it comes up in the search results as
https://aquaheat.org.uk/plumber-in-balham/
And then displays that whole message above, making the site look dodgy.
🙁
Is there any way to get rid of the https page or block it from being indexed, but keep the http page. They seem to be the same, with a slightly different layout.
If you type in gas safe heating engineer in balham
Where? In your site search? Or on Google?
It’s on the bottom of the page.
