Hello world! I new to the WordPress world and would like any comments and suggestions about my new site DuaneDaily.com

It is a site celebrating the great music from Duane Allman and The Allman Brothers Band. I have some commentary about songs, some very obscure like Duane with Aretha Franklin, videos and links to purchase related items.

I used the Suffusion theme and really like it.

I also attend meetings with the Gulf Coast WordPress Users Group in Mobile, Alabama. If you are in the area, look us up on facebook

    Thanks

I believe I was to enter my website like below instead of the link used above. Still learning.

There are way too many adds on your landing page. Please remember that content is king. I would suggest using a two column layout and loose half the adds. This should help with the page scrolling issue…I never made it to the bottom of your page. Reduce your adds or custom tailor several landing pages with ad specific content “call-to-actions” for each page.

I know you are trying to maximize your affiliates but I found the hosting and old-school clothing adds to be out of place within your “Duane Allman” niche.

Also a “get widget” is displayed in your amazon slideshow widget area. Am I buying the widget, album pictures, a CD, or vinyl. With the amazon pictures rotating, how would a potential customer go back to a previous album? Consider renaming the “Click To Buy” to Click To buy a CD” or whatever it is a potential customer can expect to buy before clicking an image. I suggest using a different widget that shows many albums in a gallery format or create a separate landing page for your albums.

Enable compression via gzip and leverage browser caching.

Consider adding a privacy policy page and disclose your affiliate relationships. Not only is it a good relationship-building practice to be honest with your readers, but the FTC also now requires bloggers to disclose that you’re receiving financial compensation for your endorsement.

Another thing to keep in mind with Ads is Google’s updated policy on content quality and having too many ads can affect your websites ranking in search engines. Check out the article below:

The number of ads have to be reduced. The blog should take up another column as others have suggested. Also the number of blog posts that can show on a page can be changed, and using four or five as the limit would help with your first page scrolling problem. With Post regularly with freshly written content approximately 500 words per post. For usability I would change the color of the inside of the blog posts from black with white lettering to white with black lettering. Syndicate your content to social networks and develop some backlinks.
