Hi, I tried to create a new (2nd) site in WP and am receiving an error which prevents me from editing the newly created site.
Presently, after repeat failed attempts I have created a test site, the url for which is a subset of my (active and working) main site, ie; http://www.mysite.com/bananas

Presently there are no other domains set to redirect to this new address.

But when I try to access the dashboard of this new site, ie; http://www.mysite.com/bananas/wp-admin/
    I get:

“Firefox has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.”

Visiting the site itself, I see a scattered html-only version of the WP menu heirarchy.

I have tried all of the solutions commonly offered through googling, including:

using www and non www versions of the url and home addresses.
    disabling individual and all plugins.
adding ‘define’ lines to the wp-config.php

    None have worked.

I have ftp and cpanel access but limited wordpress access to fix this since I can’t access the dashboard of that site.

Please log into the network admin section of your main site. Go to Tools > Network Setup. Ensure you’ve correctly edited the files as described on this screen. Be sure there is no other WordPress related .htaccess directives other than as shown on this screen.

It looks like you have a subdirectory type of installation. If so, SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL would be defined as false in item #1. Is this the case?

I assume you mean Settings > Network Setup within WP?

Yes, this seems to be the case. What else should I be looking for?

Edit: a fix to the .htaccess file may have resolved the issue. Will report back if that proves not to be the case.
