This isn’t a bug? There is a ‘reset’ button to clear all selections and start over.
You’re right, i didn’t see. Anyway it’s not intuitive because the button is small, is there another way to reset just change the first option?
You can change it with CSS if you want to make it larger.

you can’t choose another color because it’s not available so the final client reset by himself. In the kind of menu from woo commerce(drop list) if you want do the same operation it doesn’t show the other colors in gray or with a X.

I am also having the same issue with variations only I noticed something extra:
I had 2 attributes and when setting the variations I left one of them set to the “ANY [ATTRIBUTE]” option by mistake and saved the settings.
I then noticed it and went back and changed that variation to the specific attribute I wanted and saved again.
I then noticed that the variation which I originally set correctly had been reset to “ANY [ATTRIBUTE]” but that now the 2nd variation was correct.
It created a loop where each time I tried to change one it would set the other variation to “ANY [ATTRIBUTE]”.
In order to fix this I had to set both variations to “ANY [ATTRIBUTE]” then save the changes, then reset each variation to the specific attribute and save the changes
Finally it worked, but so ridiculously frustrating!

Choosing the colour would result in a non-available selection. Are you looking to add the swatches too – because I think the swatches extension lets you toggle an attribute on/off.
The problem is that he has also shoes.

If you have variations shoes called by models with the same color with the second variations by size. you can’t use the swatches color plugin, so you must have a way to reset the second variation if choose another first variation.

I know that there are swatches plugin that you can load pictures as variation, but i’d prefer if the woo commerce fix this thing by itself because plugins have many bugs when wordpress makes his upgrades
I think we disagree on why its a bug. Fact is, with the javascript variations, if you make a selection, only valid selections appear. Otherwise the user will pick something they cannot, because its not available. The clear button can be used, or they can change another selection.
Swatches can be used with regular dropdowns FYI
if you choose first LARGE
and then choose black it’s available
with these 2 options enabled if you choose the pink t-shirt, the black t-shirt will change in gray with a X.
If you have 30 first variations and if when you choose the second one and it shows only 25 choices in the first, you will not realize that are 5 hidden items because most sites works in this “amazon way”, so you’ll go out from my website think that i don’t have my object with the second choice.
In this way from amazon 100% of people won’t get way from the website, just if the product is not available.
When people buy they must have no obstacles when they are making their choices. I say many people in this forum that have the same issue.
