• I am trying to create multiple static pages, each page is about a category in the blog. But when I try to set it up nothing happens as I thought it should.

I create a master home static page(in order 1), then create another page and refer it to the parent page(first page) set it to appear as 2 in order. Then publish it. Go to site and the second page appears with the first page heading appearing top left. Instead of the first page first and pointing to page 2 etc.

    What am I doing wrong.

  • Do you want to hide the link to Page 2? I’m assuming that Page 2 is a child of Page 1, yes?

I am not sure. Yes page 2 is a child of page 1. I presumed page one comes up first with either a arrow pointing to next page or a list of pages to select from to look at. I have not seen what it looks like yet.

Being new I am not sure what it supposed to look like.

What it is supposed to look like very much depends upon the theme you are using. There is no fixed “right way” as it’s perfectly possible, within a theme, to hide some pages or move some elsewhere.

I am using the basic kubrick theme. So how do I have static pages that you can page through.

Well I came up with a work around. Because I am new to code and php and just want to get started. I have one static page on the blog with links to individual pages on my web site. This site has been built with WYSIWYG software which writes the code for now until I learn to do it myself. My site is on the same server as wordpress so there is no delay.
Thanks to all from newbie Retired Bob.
