• Hi everyone, I’ve just moved from using blogger to wordpress (for a different blog) and I was hoping someone could help me out. I’m working on a travel blog and I’d like to have different sections such as “Destinations,” “Reviews,” “Travel Tips” etc. However, I’d like those to be the pages, as in on the header at the top, but I want to be able to post multiple posts within those. So when someone clicks on “Destinations” I want to be able to have a list of Articles about various places. Is that possible or is there another way I need to do that?

    I appreciate the help!

  • The standard way of doing this would be to set those up as categories, and assign the categories to each article as needed.

So I should delete them as pages and re-make them as categories?

If it was me, I would. That is by far the easiest way.

There are other ways, but they all require a level of programming.

Sorry last question. So if I delete them as pages and add them as categories, how do I get them to show up on the bar at the top of the website? Do you know what I mean? Because when I add categories it doesn’t put them at the top.

You would create a menu, and add that menu to that menu location. In your admin area, look under ‘Appearance -> Menus’ and you’ll find that in there.

Oh, and as another point (forgot before) doing the menu that way will also give you mcuh greater control over what links go where, order, etc. That way when you find out that one category is more popular than others you can move that to a higher position to give it more visibility.
