Moving to LearnPress
-
Hello,
we are considering the LearnPress system to replace our own custom one. My question is how hard it would be to port to LearnPress? I would rather continue programming a custom solution than manually change everything on the web, or lose some of the features we have.
Our system contains questions (in a tree hierarchy) separated by category (subject), each category has another two levels in the hierarchy – a logic groups inside the subject as official test suites are separated, and another, last one that splits the questions by their type/similarity. Questions have a large answer history (hundreds of thousands) and they can be browsed, create a direct (non-transitive) dependency (meaning the exercise shares the same task entry and only the ‘question sentence’ differs (e.g. questions about large texts), they can be browsed and sorted, and composed to test suites that support evaluation and history. Images are stored as relative paths to a server file system. All of this works in a multisite subdomain-based WP.
We have no support for math formula rendering (e.g. katex, latex…) so far and we would like to have one. The reason for this was that our old mobile APP renders the stuff to web-like views that have very limited capabilities in this manner. The most concern is probably in the way of integrating LearnPress: we want the plugin to adjust to our system, not the system to change because of a plugin. We need to keep our links untouched (SEO), we want to keep the ability to work directly with the database (group SQL operations, adjustments).
We don’t mind purchasing a license or two as long as we get what we need.
