most basic navigation
-
I’m reading the “Absolute Beginners Guide to WordPress”, 2014, by Tris Hussey.
In the meantime, I cannot find the terminology for navigation with the menu. What are the items in the menu called and how are specific items in the menu linked to pages?
For example, the menu looks like:
home menu1 menu2 menu3
In a horizontal banner. How do I link menu1 to an actual page?

If you go to settings, appearance, menus and play around a bit you will figure it out.
thank you kmessinger. How do I wire a specific page to a menu item?
When you are under settings, appearance, menus on your left hand side you will see a box with Tabs that say Pages, Catagories etc. Be sure to click view all, select the pages you want on your menu and click add to menu.
They will be added to the bottom of the list in the main field and now you can drag them to where you want them in your display.
If you slide them up/down the appear sooner/later in your navigation bar.
If you slide them right/left they become either a top, sub or sub sub link.Hope that helps
thanks. I’m also looking at
and I’ll go through your directions carefully.
ok, when I bulk edited the pages, and marked them as published, then I was able to add the pages.
