mod_rewrite works except with index.php

    hi,

    just installed wordpress on a brand new virgin centos6 box and permalinks works well except with index.php

    it throws an error and redirect me to the centos sample webpage
    [Wed Feb 15 22:01:25 2012] [error] [client 195.132.36.102] Options FollowSymLinks or SymLinksIfOwnerMatch is off which implies that RewriteRule directive is forbidden: /home/mysite/www/

    Perhaps it’s just an apache problem … but i can’t figure it out.

    any tips and tricks ?

    i’ve tried everything and when the rewrite rules work , it fails on homepage …
    centoS6 latest apache and php …

    it keeps throwing this error:
    Options FollowSymLinks or SymLinksIfOwnerMatch is off which implies that RewriteRule directive is forbidden: /home/mysite/www/

    but i’ve chmoded every single file to 777 …. (not secure but i’m desperate)
