Mobile Website Development Question

Dear All,

i would like to develop a mobile website in wordpress and i have developed several mobile websites in Plain PHP, or other frameworks but not in wordpress.

actually, my client’s website is already built in WordPress platform and he wants me to develop Mobile website using same db.

so i have few questions in my mind please help:

1)Mobile website will use same db? as i know each wordpress installation requires unique db, please correct me if i am wrong.

2)Do i need to create a separate folder of mobile and creating its theme and etc stuff that supports mobile?

3)It would be custom design theme, so i will not use any plugin to support mobile, please confirm if i am on the right track.

any help, useful article for using wordpress db for mobile website would be really appreciated.
