• After upgrading to the Jobs for WordPress plugin (v2.3.4), I experienced an issue with attachments not being uploaded which was due to the File Storage option being set to Secure Location. Changing this setting to “WP Media” resolved that particular issue; however, I have now discovered that the notification email doesn’t contain the file attachment as it did before.

  • Hi, here the same problem!! Please solve quickly

    Hi, i had same problem.
I solved revert the option to “file storage” instead of “WP Media”

Unfortunately with the “file storage” option selected the attachment didn’t even get uploaded to the server. I ended up reverting back to the 2.2.9 version of the plugin in the meantime and am now getting attachments in the email notification again.

you have to assign the right permission one level up from sites root folder

I’m also having the same issue. The company was able to get resumes again when I changed the option to WP Media. However, they now don’t get the attachments in emails — and they used to and want them in the emails.

How can I get attachments in the emails again without reverting to the older version of the plugin — and what specific permissions did it work for you to change @mc76 ?

After you changed the permissions were you able to get the attachments in emails again?
    Thanks!

I finally took the time to resolve my issue with the 2.3.4 version of the plugin.

When using the “File storage” secure location option, the plugin looks for a directory named “jobs-dir” at one level above the root of the website directory and if it doesn’t exist, it tries to create it. I just ended up creating the jobs-dir folder manually (one level up from the root of the website), changed the owner and group of the jobs-dir to the user that runs the web server (in my case, nginx), and changed the permissions on the jobs-dir folder to 744.

After doing the above, the attachments were being saved and were also included in the email notifications again.

    Thanks for the quick response!

Unfortunately, this won’t work for me as I’m at a web hosting provider that will not allow me to create a directory one level above the root, and I don’t want to change hosting providers.

    Jobs for WP:
I had to roll back to the previous version of the plugin as they really need to get the resume as an attachment in the email notification.

Do you think there will be a fix for this in the next plugin release? Everything was working fine before this recent update, but with the new release I have to choose to save the file into Media and then no email attachment is received.

    Thank you.

I love this plugin but the file upload does not attach to the email that is sent as notification. Other tickets here say that this did work but not in latest version. I cannot put a folder above the root to try that method – please advise – client loves the plugin but can’t go to the website every time someone uploads a file or applies to the job.

I also can’t access above the root directory and need to use the file to Media method but like Cheryl (@tricheryltops) I also do not now get the file in email notification. Thank you for all the good work. Let me know.

    Best

Does anyone have the previous version of this plugin? the 2.2.9 version? I understand that this earlier version would allow file upload to be included in the email notification. In the new version this does not work. Please let me know especially @pjsquared – thank you.

I found the back versions – they are in the advanced section dropdown at the bottom of the page.

Back version 2.2.9 did not fix file upload not accompanying email.

I moved the plugin to a server that allowed access to the directory above WordPress root and bang, the attachment to an email is fixed no problem.

SOLVED! = We have solved as well – ability to have jobs-listing folder in root directory that is the same as WordPress. We have to create a custom code for this. But have it working on precisionpersonnel.com/jobs/

    Hi @wteg,

    Sorry for a long responce!

Please update the plugin, emails should now include the attachment again with both options selected.
