• We can not edit our menus (plus a few other related problems). We have spent considerable time with Hostgator, but they can not seem to help.

With a default theme and no plugins, the editing capability has vanished. In dashboard/appearance/menu under Menu Structure the editing dropdown arrows are not visible.

Drag each item into the order you prefer. Click the arrow on the right of the item to reveal additional configuration options.

    My Library

    ↑ | ↓ My Library. Menu item 3 of 5.

We can not, for example, delete one of the above items.

This issue is on all of our sites on the same server.

    Thanks,
    Bill

  • Are the sites being run under multi-site, or are they individual installations?

What version of WordPress are you running?

All the site run individually on 4.1.1. Five different ones all with the same issue.

Oddly, or maybe a clue, is one of them is in a sub-directory and WordPress works as expected.

I am having the same issue with my menu structure. When I try to make a menu item into a sub-item, it automatically goes back to being a regular top-level menu item after clicking Save!

Please let me know if anyone has figured anything out.

Were your sites working ok before? Did it break with the 4.1.1 update?

The sites stopped working with 4.1. We had hoped the 4.1.1 updates would bring a fix to our issue. We had thought it was a broad issue. Now it looks like we own it alone. We suspect something is going on with the root files. Maybe moving one of the sites to a new host will show if that is the case or not.
